Celebrating Juneteenth

History of Juneteenth

Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a federal holiday (Source: History.com).

Celebrating Juneteenth

Juneteenth has been celebrated as an unofficial holiday long before it became a federal holiday. As an African American business owner we celebrate Juneteenth everyday in how we run our business and connect with our clients. It is empowering to choose the impact you can make in your daily work environment and how you can impact the people you work with everyday.
We will continue to unapologetically celebrate Juneteenth through freedom of expression, thought and collaboration.

Happy Juneteenth!!
